PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Dear Members of the ISPD, Colleagues, and Friends,

It is with immense honor and enthusiasm that I begin my term as President of the International Society of Pediatric Dermatology (ISPD). I am deeply grateful for the trust you have placed in me, and I accept this responsibility with humility, gratitude, and a strong commitment to serve our global dermatology community over the next four years.

The ISPD has experienced tremendous growth over the past eight years, with more than 1,500 registered members. Under the leadership of Dr. Amy Paller, our society has become one of the fastest-growing international organizations in the field. Her promising leadership, along with the dedicated efforts of our immediate past Officers, Board of Directors (BOD), and Editorial Committees, has been instrumental in successfully advancing the mission of the ISPD.

We begin this new chapter on the heels of the outstanding World Congress of Pediatric Dermatology, held in Buenos Aires, Argentina (April 7–11, 2025). The congress was a resounding success, featuring 198 international speakers, eight plenary lectures, 118 scientific sessions, and participation from 81 countries, with a total of 2,386 attendees. This global gathering of experts, emerging voices, and rising stars highlighted the unity, passion, and strength of our community. I applaud Dr. Margarita Larralde, President of the WCPD, and her organizing team, and I sincerely thank everyone who contributed to this remarkable achievement.

I am proud to be joined by an exceptional leadership team: our Vice President, Dr. Sandipan Dhar (India); Secretary General, Dr. Mark Koh (Singapore); Treasurer, Dr. Dirk van Gysel (Belgium); and a highly dedicated Board of Directors representing diverse regions and cultures from across the world. This global representation is one of ISPD’s greatest strengths—uniting us in purpose while embracing regional diversity.

In the coming four years, we aim to foster innovation and expand educational opportunities through online learning, webinars, mentorship programs, regional pediatric dermatology meetings, ISPD news bulletins, and global collaboration. We are committed to enhancing networking among our members and supporting the next generation of pediatric dermatologists. A major focus will be aiding countries with limited resources—ensuring that no child is left behind in receiving dermatologic care.
We are also excited to continue recognizing and honoring physicians who have advanced pediatric dermatology through the ISPD Awards of Excellence, Appreciation Certificates for established pediatric dermatologists, and Scholarship Programs for future leaders.

I invite each of you to actively participate in shaping the future of the ISPD. We are stronger together than alone. I look forward to working closely with all of you on this exciting journey.
Together, we will continue to build bridges, nurture young talent, and ensure that ISPD remains a leading force in pediatric skin health worldwide.

With warm regards and renewed commitment,
