ISPD AWARDS 2025
To honor the individuals who have made a significant contribution to the upbringing of pediatric dermatology during the World Congress of Pediatric Dermatology (WCPD). The awards for the WCPD, 2025 include:
Global Award for Excellence in Pediatric Dermatology for an outstanding contribution in Pediatric Dermatology (Clinical/Research) = US Dollars 5,000 (Global Award for Excellence to be unanimously decide by the ISPD Board of Directors)
Prof. Surrinder Kaur Award for Excellence in Pediatric Dermatology for an outstanding contribution in Pediatric Dermatology in India (For Indian Subcontinent) = US Dollars 4,000
Award for Excellence in Pediatric Dermatology in Low & Middle Income Countries for an outstanding contribution in Pediatric Dermatology = US Dollars 3,000

To be awarded during the 15th World Congress of Pediatric Dermatology, 8 to 11 April 2025, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The recipients of the awards will be honoured by the ISPD president and WCPD president with a cash prize enlisted with the respective award, a trophy, and certificate of excellence and free registration to WCPD 2025
Eligibility Criteria:

The recipient must be holding a degree of Board Certified Dermatologist/Pediatric Dermatologist or equivalent degree/s (Doctor of Medicine/ Ph.D. in Dermatology/ Pediatric Dermatology).

He or she must be consistently committed to Pediatric Dermatology for a minimum period of 10 years from India (Prof. Surrinder Kaur Award for Excellence) or low & middle-income countries (Award for Excellence in Pediatric Dermatology in Low & Middle Income Countries).

Must be a current member of the ISPD (membership is open but subject to review).

May be self-nominated or nominated by someone else.
Application must include:

Up to 500 words personal statement of top contributions to pediatric dermatology, highlighting the major achievements in clinical care, research, education, and advocacy, written to convince the judges that the applicant is deserving of the award

Short CV/bio sketch that lists the top 10 publications, the number of: peer-reviewed manuscript, chapters/ books, honors and awards, key meeting presentations, and leadership and mentorship experiences.

Letters of endorsement: Each candidate may provide up to 2 letters. At least one must be from:
A. Head of the Dermatology where the applicant is working/ Current employer (Dean/Chair/Director/Equivalent)
B. A Regional/National/International Dermatologist/Pediatric Dermatologist of Repute (e.g. Leader of a Society)
4. Headshot photograph (to be used in ISPD News Bulletin if selected)
Selection Process:
All the applications will be reviewed by a geographically diverse panel appointed by the ISPD President. The panel will select the candidate for each award and will submit their recommendations to the ISPD Board of Directors and the President of the ISPD. The final decision will be based on their judgment and depend on:

Evidence of a long-term commitment to Pediatric Dermatology & spent majority of time spent in pediatric patients’ care

Evidence of his/her achievements

Evidence that his/her work has resulted in advancing the field of pediatric dermatology through promoting health care, teaching and research related to Pediatric Dermatology
