As President of the International Society of Pediatric Dermatology, I welcome you. The mission of the ISPD is to support the international pediatric dermatology community. In particular, we hope to promote the growth of pediatric dermatology in regions without a strong organizational structure. Our current Board of Directors and Advisory Board members represent the geographic diversity of our organization and are highly committed to Society activities (see the photos and biographies of our leaders). We want to know about pediatric dermatologists across the world and to hear your thoughts about how best our network can support you in caring for your pediatric patients with skin disorders.

In addition to the planned 2021 World Congress in Edinburgh and our World Congresses every 4 years, the ISPD has a new initiative to participate in other international meetings and sponsor regional meetings as well. Towards this goal, we will jointly sponsor a symposium with the European Society for Pediatric Dermatology in Milan at the World Congress of Dermatology. Please put the afternoon of Monday, June 10, 2019 on your calendar. Our first Regional ISPD-sponsored Meeting was held on 17th October in Montevideo during the 16th Uruguayan Congress of Dermatology. A Sister Society Meeting of ISPD was held on May 3rd, 2019, in Buenos Aires during the XXXVII RADLA.

One of our Board Directors, Dr. Arti Nanda from Kuwait has assembled a team of junior pediatric dermatologists and senior advisors to provide educational content and interactive activities ISPD Education. Planned are broadcasts of upcoming meetings, summaries of lessons learned at meetings from the current literature, discussions on hot topics and controversies in Pediatric Dermatology, and the opportunity to submit cases for diagnosis and therapeutic consideration, reviewed by a team of experts. We welcome your suggestions about website content and your feedback as we strive to provide more value.

In time, we hope to develop mentorship and fellowship opportunities to connect Pediatric dermatologists and facilitate training. We also hope to learn more about what’s happening in Pediatric Dermatology worldwide, especially beyond N. America and Europe, and share news with our members. An important component is networking with organizations worldwide and bringing together our network of Pediatric Dermatologists internationally.

We look forward to having you join us in our quest. Please become a member of the ISPD and support the worldwide community of pediatric dermatologists.
